The Malaysian Peacekeeping Centre (MPC) successfully conducted the Women, Peace and Security (WPS) Training of Trainers (ToT) Course Serial 1/2026 from 4 to 8 May 2026, bringing together 29 participants comprising personnel from the Malaysian Armed Forces and the Royal Malaysian Police.

The course was designed to strengthen understanding of United Nations Security Council Resolutions (UNSCR) 1325 and 2242, with a focus on integrating gender perspectives into peacekeeping operations. Throughout the course, participants were equipped with essential knowledge and practical approaches to enhance their roles as future trainers in advancing the WPS agenda.

MPC was honoured to host Dr Alan Okros, an international facilitator and Subject Matter Expert from Kingston Leadership Team Incorporated (KLT Inc), Canada, whose expertise greatly contributed to the success of the course.

The closing ceremony was officiated by Vice Admiral Datuk Sabri bin Zali, Commander of Malaysian Armed Forces Education, Training and Doctrine at the Ban Ki Moon Auditorium on 8 May 2026. The ceremony was also attended by Colonel Samsul Asmadi bin Mohamed Amin, Commandant of MPC, Brigadier General Normah binti Samsuri, Chairperson of the Women Empowerment Community of the Malaysian Armed Forces, Lieutenant Colonel Derek Mattinen, Defence Attaché of Canada and ACP Siti Nor Salawati binti Saad, representative from the Royal Malaysian Police.

MPC remains committed to strengthening capacity and promoting inclusive approaches in peacekeeping operations in line with the Women, Peace and Security agenda.
