The Integrated Training Service (ITS) of the Department of Peace Operation (DPO) has collaborated with Serbian Peacekeeping Operations Centre (PKOC) in conducting the United Nations Engagement Platoon (UN EP) Training of Trainers (TOT) course from 13th to 24th May 2024. The 10-day course was held at the Military Base South, Bujanovac, Serbia, attended by 25 Course Participants from 13 countries, aiming to provide the troop-contributing countries (TCC) with a comprehensive training package that addresses the technical requirements needed to engage with Civil sector stakeholders in peacekeeping operations.
Directing Staffs from MPC, Lt Col Hadiat bin Sepie and Maj Mohd Izuddin bin Zakaria has successfully participated throughout the course. The course sylybus is based on the UN Engagement Platoon Reinforcement Training Package which has been released in 2022, as a reference for the UN Members States in their respective Peacekeeping Centre's Pre-Deployment Training (PDT). On top of that, the course participants were intensively trained in the fields of communication, negotiation, liaison, coordination, documentation and reporting. The Scenario Based Exercise (SBE), as the highlight of the event, required participants to demonstrate their understanding, knowledge and skills during the engagement with the community activities and other mission relevant tasks.
The Course was officially opened by Col Mirjana Milenkovic, the Chief of Serbian PKOC on 13th May 2024 and officially closed by Col Dragan Ivkovic, the Deputy Chief Serbian PKOC on 24th May 2024.
