The Malaysian Peacekeeping Centre (MPC) successfully conducted the United Nations Comprehensive Protection of Civilians (UNCPOC) Course Serial 4/2026 from 18 to 22 May 2026, bringing together participants from the Malaysian Armed Forces, the Royal Malaysian Police and a participant from Vietnam.

The course was designed to enhance participants’ understanding of the Protection of Civilians (POC) mandate in United Nations Peacekeeping Operations, with emphasis on the practical application of POC concepts, situational awareness, conflict-related sexual violence, child protection, human rights, and coordination with humanitarian actors in mission environments.

Throughout the course, participants were exposed to both theoretical and scenario-based learning activities aimed at strengthening their capacity to respond effectively to complex protection challenges in contemporary peacekeeping operations.

The course also provided a platform for participants to exchange experiences, foster inter-agency cooperation and reinforce the importance of an integrated approach in ensuring the safety and protection of civilians under UN mandates.

The closing ceremony was officiated by Lt Col Mohd Adlie bin Mohd, MPC's Deputy Commandant at the Ban Ki Moon Auditorium, Malaysian Peacekeeping Centre. This marked the successful completion of the course and reaffirming MPC’s continued commitment towards strengthening professional peacekeeping training in line with United Nations standards.

MPC remains dedicated to developing competent peacekeepers equipped with the knowledge, skills and values necessary to support international peace and security efforts.
