MPC successfully conducted the United Nations Civil-Military Coordination (UN CMCoord) Course Serial 2/2026 from 20 to 24 July 2026 at the Malaysian Peacekeeping Centre. The five day course brought together 23 participants comprising personnel from the Malaysian Armed Forces, the Royal Malaysian Police, and two international participants from Bangladesh and Vietnam.

Facilitated by the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), the course was designed to enhance participants’ understanding of civil-military coordination in humanitarian and peace operation environments. OCHA identifies UN-CMCoord as an important mechanism for dialogue and interaction between civilian and military actors in support of humanitarian principles and effective.

Throughout the course, participants were exposed to both theoretical and practical learning activities aimed at strengthening their ability to operate effectively in complex and dynamic mission settings. The programme also served as a valuable platform for professional exchange, inter agency cooperation, and deeper appreciation of integrated coordination among military, police, and humanitarian actors.

The opening ceremony was officiated by Lt Col Hairul bin Aziz, Senior Instructor, while the closing ceremony was officiated by Brigadier General, Director General of The Defence Training Branch from Defence Operation and Training Division, at the Ban Ki Moon Auditorium, Malaysian Peacekeeping Centre. The successful completion of the course reaffirmed MPC’s continued commitment to strengthening professional peacekeeping training in line with international standards and supporting global peace and humanitarian efforts.
