Two instructors from the Malaysian Peacekeeping Centre (MPC) recently took part in the Military Gender Advisor Course held from 1–12 December 2025 at the Vietnam Department of Peacekeeping Operations, Hanoi. The course was organised with the support of UNITAR and focused on strengthening the ability of military personnel to integrate gender perspectives into peacekeeping operations.
The course brought together 17 participants from various backgrounds and was conducted by four experienced instructors from UNITAR, Malaysia, and Vietnam. Representing MPC, Lt Col Hairul bin Aziz contributed as an instructor, sharing Malaysian expertise, while Lt Col Mohd Adlie bin Mohd participated as a course participant.
Throughout the programme, participants explored key topics such as military gender mainstreaming, the role of Military Gender Advisors (MGA), and how gender analysis supports better operational planning and decision-making. The training included interactive lectures, group discussions, case studies, and hands-on exercises that encouraged practical learning and open exchange of ideas.
This participation has further strengthened MPC’s capacity in promoting inclusive, effective, and gender-responsive peacekeeping operations. It also reflects MPC’s ongoing commitment to professional development, international collaboration, and advancing gender integration in UN peacekeeping.
