Major Azlinkhair Mohd Ajis represented the Malaysian Armed Forces at the ASEAN Defence Ministers' Meeting Plus (ADMM-Plus) Experts' Working Group (EWG) on Peacekeeping Operations, co-hosted by Brunei Darussalam and the People's Republic of China, held in Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei Darussalam, from 29 June to 3 July 2026.

The programme brought together representatives from ADMM-Plus member states to strengthen regional cooperation, exchange professional expertise, and enhance interoperability in support of United Nations Peacekeeping Operations.

The programme commenced with discussions on "Improving the Capability of Peacekeeping and Standby Force", focusing on enhancing operational readiness, rapid deployment capabilities, interoperability, and multinational cooperation. On the second day, discussions centred on the Importance of Gender Considerations in Peacekeeping Operations, highlighting women's leadership, meaningful participation, and decision-making as key enablers for more effective and inclusive peacekeeping missions.

On the third day, delegates conducted a Field Training Exercise (FTX) Site Survey as part of the planning process for the upcoming ADMM-Plus Peacekeeping Exercise, scheduled to be held from 27 November to 12 December 2026. The site survey enabled participating countries to coordinate operational requirements, training objectives, and exercise arrangements in preparation for the multinational exercise.

The programme concluded on the fourth day with a wrap-up session and Closing Ceremony, reaffirming the shared commitment of ADMM-Plus member states to strengthening regional partnerships, enhancing peacekeeping capabilities, and supporting effective multinational cooperation in future peacekeeping operations.

Malaysia remains committed to supporting regional defence cooperation and contributing to professional, inclusive, and effective United Nations Peacekeeping Operations through active participation in multilateral initiatives under the ADMM-Plus framework.
