The Department of Multilateral Affairs from Ministry of Foreign Affairs has visited Malaysian Peacekeeping Centre (MPC) on the 14th of May 2024, presided by the Honorable Dato’ Bala Chandran Tharman, Deputy Secretary General of Multilateral Affairs. The visit aiming to acquaint the delegation on the overview of Peacekeeping Training execution in MPC and make aware of the current Malaysian Armed Forces (MAF) deployment in the United Nations Peacekeeping missions.

The visit began with an opening address from the Commandant of MPC, Colonel Noor Azman bin Hj Yahya, followed by a comprehensive brief on MPC’s overview concerning on peacekeeping operation training management, environment, and facilities provided by MPC’s Staff. The delegation also has been exposed with a Mini Exercise called Conduct After Captured considering on the real challenges faced in UN Peacekeeping operations, after the Sharing of Mission Experience session by the MPC’s Staff.

Mr. Adlan Mohd Shaffieq, the Undersecretary General on behalf of the Honorable Dato’ Bala Chandran, in his speech appreciated MPC for the warm welcome and hospitality provided during this visit. He also complimenting MPC's high training standards and competency level of expertise in upholding the stated MPC’s vision. The visit concluded with visitor signatures and exchange of mementos which held at the MPC Blue Haven Hall.

This visit undoubtedly brings out a valuable and positive impact of the MPC. MPC also looking forward to have any possible good prospect and collaboration in near future with the Multilateral Affairs Department for the betterment of this peacekeeping centre. The visit aligns with the fifth pillar of MPC’s strategic plan, which is to integrate and collaborate with strategic partners in promoting MPC internationally.
